TORONTO – Being parents for the first time can be a very exciting and exhausting time.
We took to the streets to ask what advice you have for new parents Prince William and Kate.
A Whitby woman says enjoy baby time.
“Enjoy every giggle, every little smile, every little baby coo because you need those memories.”
Robert Finch of the Monarchist League of Canada — and father to a five-year-old — says patience is key.
“Show lots of patience, ignore what everybody tells you, just love your child,” he says.
He also says William and Kate have to learn to be parents under intense media attention.
“Any parent will tell you it’s tough to raise a child but when you have the entire world watching, it takes it to a whole different level,” he said.
Wendy visiting from England hopes William and Kate are able to shield their baby from the media.
“I think it will be really difficult because there will be such a drive to get pictures of that baby,” she said.
Dee, a retired nurse who worked at St. Mary’s Hospital in London, offered her opinion of the Duchess.
“Kate seems very relaxed and very lovely. I’m sure she’ll be a wonderful mother.”
Most say William and Kate should spend as much time as they can with their baby boy, away from royal business.
